Join us for a 16-hour, hands-on Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course designed for Sac State Students, hikers, campers, outdoor leaders, and anyone who loves exploring our local trails and outdoor spaces. Over the course of two days, you will learn how to assess and confidently respond to emergencies when First Responders are hours away. You will walk away with a Wilderness First Aid Certification and CPR/AED/First Aid Certification and the knowledge to save lives and make informed decisions in the backcountry. Day 1 will be a four-hour lecture and practice session from 5 pm to 9 pm held at the Peak Adventures Ropes Course on Sacramento State's Campus, just behind Yosemite Hall. On Day 2, we will meet at the Peak Adventures ropes course at 7:00 am to begin a twelve-hour day of instruction and practice. Snacks and water will be provided. You must bring a packed lunch. More details will be provided upon sign-up. Please contact us for more information. We may travel for Day 2. Location TBD, but within 1 hour of Campus. More details will be available closer to the event. Travel will be provided. *CPR/AED/First Aid Certification is required to take this course. If you don’t have one, we can offer you a blended class before the certification for an additional $25. Participants must be 18 years or older to attend. Deadline to sign up is Tuesday, June 23rd at 5:00 pm. *Failure to prove certification of CPR/First Aid/AED on Day 1 will result in an immediate dismissal from class without refund.
